Denise Brolly Named SoccerFla.com Player-of-the-Week

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Denise Brolly was named the soccerFLA.com Player-of-the-Week. The award is given weekly to the top college player from a Florida school for his or her performance during the previous week. Brolly, only the fifth recipient of this award, registered seven goals and two assists in leading the Lady Owls to a 3-0 record for the week.

"There are so many great players from the state of Florida, that to be named the player of the week is a great honor," said Brolly, the first athlete from FAU to receive this award.

Brolly, a junior from Coatbridge, Scotland, tied a program record by scoring four goals in a 6-0 win over Lipscomb University. She added two goals and two assists in an 8-0 win over Belmont University and one goal in a 2-0 win over Florida International University. She leads the team with nine goals and 22 points and has recorded at least one point in five consecutive games and a goal in four consecutive games.
