Freel Named to All-Regional Team

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Candice Freel was named to the All-Regional team at the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee. The freshman led FAU with a .545 batting average in the team's four games. She also appeared in two games and picked up a win in FAU's 2-1 victory over Alabama on May 16.

Freel, the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman-of-the-Year, finished the season with a 26-6 record with a 1.28 ERA. She tossed 12 shutouts and also had a no-hitter.

Florida Atlantic finished the season with a team-record 62 wins while receiving its first no. 1 seed in NCAA Regional play.
