BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University defeated Boston University, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon in Boca Raton, FL. The Lady Owls took the doubles point and held on for three singles wins to clinch the match and improve to 5-4 on the year.
In doubles, the team of Alena Dvorakova and Karolina Roubickova won 8-3 at no. 1. Jessica Burrow and Stephanie Beaulieu teamed at no. 6 for an 8-5 win while Tania Rivera and Maria Aguirre-Gomez won 8-6 at no. 2.
In singles, Boston won three of the first five matches to tie the score at 3 before Aguirre-Gomez completed her comeback from one set down to Lindsey Dynof with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at no. 2. Other FAU's winners were Roubickova, ranked no. 98, who improved to 9-0 on the year with a straight sets victory at no. 5. Rivera also picked up a singles win.
Florida Atlantic next hosts Georgetown Wednesday at 6:00pm.
