BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University easily defeated Bethune-Cookman College, 7-0, Sunday in Boca Raton, FL. The Lady Owls took the doubles point before breezing through singles play to improve to 4-4 on the season.
FAU gave up just four points in the three doubles matches to start the match. At no. 1, Jessica Burrow and Karolina Roubickova defeated BCC's Zera Gyorecva and Marta Kostrohounova 8-4. FAU's Maria Aguirre-Gomez and Alena Dvorakova did not surrender a point in an 8-0 win at no. 2. The same was true for Stephanie Beaulieu and Tania Rivera in their win at no. 3.
In singles, FAU took 6-0, 6-0 victories at no. 4-6. Beaulieu won at no. 4 while Roubickova stayed perfect on the year with the win at no. 5. Burrow also had a perfect victory at no. 6.
Rivera defeated Gyorecva 6-1, 6-2 at no. 2 while Aguirre-Gomez and Dvorakova picked up wins an no. 1 and no. 3, respectively.
Florida Atlantic next hosts Boston University March 5.
