Lady Owls Place Six on All-Conference Teams

Macon, GA. - Florida Atlantic University's women's soccer team had six members earn all-conference honors as announced by the Atlantic Sun Conference. Four were named to the first team, two to the second team and one to the freshman team. The six individuals earned a total of seven honors, the most single-season honors in the programs history.
First Team
Junior midfielder Rhonda Jones, four goals and seven assists (tied for seventh in the A-Sun), was named to the first team for the second consecutive year.
Senior forward Trina Maso de Moya, 19 goals (10th nationally, 1st A-Sun) and three assists for 41 points (program record), earned honors in her lone collegiate season. Maso de Moya was named to the All-ACC first team three times for volleyball.
Junior defender Krista Fine. Fine was named to the second team in 2001.
Freshman forward Julie Ferguson, nine goals and 13 assists (program record, 1st A-Sun, 5th nationally), was named to the first team and All-Freshman team, the first time in program history for a freshman to be on both in a season.
Second Team
Junior keeper Molly Keating, 0.86 GAA (1st in A-Sun) and seven shutouts (2nd A-Sun), was named to the second team for the second consecutive year.
Junior defender Danielle Castro, seven assists (most among A-Sun defenders).
FAU tied the University of Central Florida for the most selections, with seven. The individual honors come after the program has set, broke or tied 20 records and has posted the best winning percentage .778 in the program's 12-year history.
FAU starts play in the 2002 A-Sun Championship, hosted by Campbell University, on Friday after receiving a first round bye for being the second seed. The Lady Owls will play the winner of the Jacksonville/Samford match at 4:00 pm in Buies Creek, NC.
