BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's basketball team, and head coach Chancellor Dugan, held a Chalk Talk Clinic on Saturday, November 16th. The clinic was held to benefit coaches and teams of area basketball programs by allowing them to witness a live practice and scrimmage, followed by coaching tips from coach Dugan.
The clinic was an overwhelming success as a wide array of players and coaches showed up to watch the practice. Over 30 high schools were represented including players and coaches from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade County. In all, 311 high school, junior high, and grade school basketball players found out what it takes to make it through a Division I practice. After the practice the young women in attendance got to meet and have autographs signed by their favorite Owls.
FAU has high hopes for this season as last year they fell just a bucket short of becoming the Atlantic Sun Champs and making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The team will kick off its season against Georgia Southern, Friday at the Marshall tournament in Huntington, West Virginia.
