Softball's Myers Receives National Recognition

Florida Atlantic University's Nicole Myers has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America Second-Team. The junior helped lead FAU to its third straight appearance in the NCAA Softball Tournament while topping the team in all major pitching and hitting categories.
Myers leads the nation with 10.9 strikeouts per seven innings and is seventh with a 0.57 ERA. She finished the season with a 26-13 record while being named Trans America Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Year for the second straight season. Myers has been a part of a record five-consecutive TAAC Championship teams at FAU. She allowed just four runs in her final 104 innings pitched and set a school record with 403 strikeouts.
At the plate, Myers led FAU with a .376 batting average and 49 RBIs while setting a team record with 19 homers.
Florida Atlantic finished the year with a 46-21 record while advancing to an NCAA Regional in Tallahassee where the team came within one game of playing in the regional final.
The award for Myers comes less than two weeks after she was honored as a Southeast Region First-Team selection.
