Florida Atlantic University fell 6-1 Monday to Old Dominion University in a non-conference dual match in Tampa, FL. ODU entered the match ranked 62nd in the nation and featured the 4th-ranked player in Nataly Cahana.
The Lady Owls took the early lead by claiming the doubles point on two victories but were swept in the singles matches. FAU's Kristen Jordan, ranked 71st, suffered a rare loss by falling to Cahana 6-2, 6-1. It marked just the fourth time this season and seventh time in the past two seasons Jordan has not won.
FAU next faces # 56 Virginia Tech Friday at 9:00am in Boca Raton.
