Women's Tennis Splits Doubleheader

Florida Atlantic University was defeated 5-2 Friday by Virginia Tech in the first of two matches on the day for the Lady Owls. The team bounced back to defeat Hampton University 5-2 in the afternoon to improve to 4-9 on the season.
Against Virginia Tech, FAU dropped the doubles point before winning two singles matches. Kristen Jordan was one of the winners at no. 1 while Tania Rivera picked up a victory at no. 4.
Against Hampton, FAU claimed the doubles point by winning all three matches before winning three of five singles matches played. At no. 1, Kristen Jordan defeated HU's Alena Mitackova 7-5, 6-0. Jordan's two victories on Friday pushes her season record to 22-4 overall and 13-2 in dual match play.
The Lady Owls next host Colgate and Seton Hall in a doubleheader March 13.
