BOCA RATON, FL -
Florida Atlantic University extended its longest winning streak in four years with a 6-1 victory over visiting Charleston Southern Tuesday in Boca Raton. The Lady Owls (8-9) have won five straight which is the team's longest stretch since the 1996-97 season.
FAU claimed the first point by winning two of three doubles points. The team of Jessica Burrow and Kristen Jordan won for the 14th time this season at no. 2. In singles play, Jordan took three sets to dispose of CSU's Gizella Turbook at no. 1. Maria Aguirre-Gomez, Tania Rivera, Gabriela Spear, and Stephanie Beaulieu also were victorious for the Lady Owls.
FAU's five-match winning streak ties its longest since moving to Division I in 1994 and pulls the team within four victories of equaling its most at the D-I level.
