Men's Basketball Drops Third Straight

JACKSONVILLE, AL -
Florida Atlantic University was defeated 79-70 by Jacksonville State University Thursday night in Jacksonville, AL. Earnest Crumbley led FAU with 18 points in the loss. JSU's Emerson Brown led all scorers with 24 points.
Brown scored 14 of his points in leading JSU to a 40-37 halftime lead. FAU (6-20, 5-10 Trans America Athletic Conference) had four players finish in double figures as John Smart Jeff Cowans, and Daryl Dingle each finished with 10 points.
JSU (8-15, 5-10 TAAC) outshot FAU 51-percent to 42-percent while winning the battle of the boards, 39-29. JSU's Earl Bullock had a game-high 10 rebounds.
"They were more mentally ready than us," said FAU head coach Sidney Green on the Gamecocks' effort. "We started out very methodically. In addition, this has been another learning experience for us."
JSU shot 35-percent from beyond the arc (7-of-20) while FAU managed just 24-percent (4-of-17).
