BOCA RATON, FL - Ashley Bodily and Gracie Heim led Florida Atlantic University's vollebyall team (3-6) with 11 kills each in the Owls victory over Bethune-Cookman College, 15-6, 15-11, 15-10, Monday night.
FAU was challenged, in the second game of a best three out of five match, when Bethune evened the score at eight.
"Agressive serving gave us the lead to start game two," said Jody Brown, FAU's head coach. "We got away from serving aggressive, but returned to aggressive serving to take the game."
Both Laura Woods adn Stacey Carlson tallied two service aces and kari Dailey served for six FAU points.
Danyielle Smith guided the team's offense. Smith connected with 29 assists. Defensively, FAU was led by Lori Lombard, who had 11 digs. Both Stacey Carlson and Smith, added seven digs each.
The Owls will next be in action at Florida International University, 7 pm, Tuesday.
