BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's basketball team (5-3) was up- ended by the Eagles of Georgia Southern (3-5), Saturday afternoon by the score of 79-69.
The Lady Owls had three players score in double digits. Tamala Vaughn led the way with 17 points. LaTorria Matthews and Jill Banse added 16 and 10, respectively. Matthews also had a game high nine rebounds. Georgia Southern University's high scorer was Sharon Mitchell with 21 points.
The Lady Owls started out the game with a 5-0 lead before the Lady Eagles' full-court pressure forced 31 turnovers and led to 12 fast break points for GSU.
FAU next takes on Oral Roberts University December 17 at 9:00 pm in Cancun, Mexico.
