Alex Ortega Signs a NCAA Letter of Intent

Switch hitting catcher, Alex Ortega has signed a NCAA National Letter of Intent with Florida Atlantic University's baseball program, announced John McCormack, FAU's Associate Head Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
"Alex is one of the best catchers in the state," McCormack said. "He will be a tremendous asset to FAU, both on and off the field."
Ortega, a home-grown product from Lake Worth High School, will come to FAU after completing his senior prep campaign. As a junior, he was named second team all-county by the Palm Beach Post.
Ortega hit a little over .300 with three home runs, nine doubles and 23 RBIs. He also played for American Legion Post 47.
Ortega plans to concentrate his college studies in the medical field and chose to play at FAU, where his family can be a part of his collegiate career.
