ATLANTA, GA -
Still plagued with injuries, Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team fell to Trans America Athletic Conference foe Georgia State University 15-9, 16-14, 15-4. The Lady Owls fall to 6-14 overall and 2-2 in TAAC play. GSU improved to 21-5 and 3-0 in the league, including a victory over conference leading Central Florida, Friday night.
Stacey Carlson, the team's best defensive player, was forced to set once again after injuries have sideline the number one and two setters. Carlson tallied 36 assists in the losing effort. She connected with Lori Lombard for 13 kills, while Gracie Heim and Ashley Bodily added 11 and 10, respectively.
Defensively, FAU was led by Bodily's 12 digs and Lombards 10.
The team will return home to host the University of Central Florida 7 pm, Tuesday.
