Florida Atlantic University saw its offensive attack held a bay with an outstanding defensive performance by the Knights in a 15-6, 15-9, 15-12, UCF victory. The Owls record falls to 6-15 and 2-3 in Trans America Athletic Conference play. UCF improved to 10-8 and 3-1.
FAU's offensive efforts were guided by Stacey Carlson who tallied 30 assists. Lori Lombard tallied 13 kills. The Lady Owls defensive efforts were led by Ashley Bodily, who had 15 digs.
UCF saw three players tally double-digit kills, Layre Santa, Lindsey Whalen and Shelly Driggers. The offense was guided by the duo of Becca Saldana and Jenny Frank who had 21 and 18, respectively.
As a team, the Knights had 80 digs. Five players were in double figures. Jenny Frank had 16, Layre Santana had 14 while Whalen and Driggers had 13 each.
