The Lady Owls improved to 7-15 overall and evened their conference mark at three. More importantly, the victory improved the teams hopes to qualify for the TAAC Championships, which will be held at FAU, November 16-18. The Owls currently hold the sixth seed of a six team tournament.
Stacey Carlson guided the squads offensive efforts with 48 assists, a career high for Carlson. She connected with Lori Lombard for 25 kills, Ashley Bodily for 14 and middle blocker Gracie Heim for 12 to complete the double-digit offensive leaders.
Defensively, FAU was edged with 81 digs compared to Troy's 88. Lombard again led the team with 25. Kari Daily had 16 while Bodily and Laura Woods added 13 and 11, respectively. The team continued with aggressive serves to help its efforts with nine total aces.
