JACKSONVILLE, FL -
Florida Atlantic University won its third straight match by defeating Central Connecticut State, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville. The win improves FAU's record to 3-2 on the season.
The Owls scored a goal in each half as Jonas Kolstad recorded his second shutout in the past three matches.
Offensively, Pablo Luna put FAU a head 1-0 with his first goal of the season 15:55 into the first half. Jeff Chandler finished the FAU scoring with 11:00 left in the match with his first goal of the year. Mark Haskins and Federico Santana each added assists in the Owls' effort.
Kolstad had five saves for the match as both teams fired 11 shots each. The Owls have allowed just one goal during the win streak, which started with last Friday's upset victory over then-fourth ranked Alabama Birmingham.
FAU next playes DePaul University Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville.
