Leslie Chang joined the Florida Atlantic University athletic department as an athletic academic counselor in July of 2018. Her primary sports were baseball, women's tennis, and beach volleyball. She added softball in 2019-20 and gave up women's tennis and beach volleyball after one season of excellence. She was then asked to switch at the semester break to work with the defensive side of football and retained baseball.
Prior to FAU, she worked at Mississippi State University as a graduate assistant.
At MSU, Chang worked towards her Master’s degree in kinesiology, with a concentration in sports administration, while holding many hats in Starkville. She was not only a GA in learning services and academic services, she also worked within the department of kinesiology in graduate projects and appointments. Further, she spent nearly a year as a game day operations intern for the Mississippi University for Women’s athletic department.
Prior to MSU, Chang earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication studies, while minoring in marketing and women’s studies, at Cal State Northridge. She was a member of the varsity women’s tennis team (and team captain for two years), served as president of the school’s chapter of SAAC, and was a student assistant at the Matador Achievement Center. Before that, she was also an instructional student assistant and academic mentor.
