Haiden Nagel joined the athletics staff at his alma mater, Florida Atlantic University, in February of 2020 as the community relations coordinator and was elevated to assistant AD for Development in August of 2022.
Nagel was responsible for developing the community relations position, one that was responsible for promoting all 19 teams as well as the Florida Atlantic athletic brand. Along with that, he participated and collaborated in marketing, fundraising and ticket sales. His efforts assisted a fundraising campaign that added a 25% increase in new donor participation to an annual fund in fiscal year 2021,contributing to a 147% overall giving increase for the year compared to the previous year's total.
He was credited with the implementation of a summer reading program, Coach Taggart's Touchdown Readers, that increased 890% in youth participation in year one of the program. Nagel was part of the team that initiated and collaborated on creating a lead generator program, Paradise Pride, for the department in the six ticketed sports and assisted with the Varsity Owls' program, for former student-athletes. Nagel worked as the interim director of marketing from May of 2021 through July of 2021 and remained as an assistant where he conducted marketing game scripts for men's basketball, women's basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball during the COVID-19 seasons (2020-21).
Nagel came to FAU as a freshman football player in 2013 and has been involved with the program in some facet ever since. Most recently, he served as a development assistant from August 2019 until his community relations appointment. Prior to his stint in development, Nagel worked as a learning assistant in the FAU student-athlete center for academic excellence, while completing his MBA, and simultaneously worked with the Florida Panthers as a member of the Panther Patrol from 2018-19.
He completed an internship with Northwestern Mutual, a position he served in from March 2019 through December of the same year. While in school, Nagel worked as an honorary observer coordinator and operations intern for the Oasis Championship (December 2018-July 2019), a PGA Tour Champions Event, and on the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium event and gameday staffs (July 2018-June 19).
Nagel was a five-year member of the FAU football team, a defensive lineman, and a member of the 2017 Conference USA and Boca Raton Bowl championship team. He earned a spot on the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll (2016-18), served as the Sergeant at Arms for Delta Tau Delta and received the Kershner Scholar (2015). Nagel completed his Florida Atlantic finance degree in August of 2017 and his master’s of business administration with an emphasis in sports management in December of 2019, also from FAU.
