Genesis Silvestre joined the Florida Atlantic University athletics staff in September of 2023 as the assistant director of communications. She oversees communications efforts for women’s soccer, men’s basketball, cross country, and track & field.
Silvestre came to FAU after spending a year at Keiser University as a Sports Information Coordinator. During her time at Keiser, she covered the seven-time M/W Swimming & Diving NAIA National Champions. Her other sports were men’s Soccer, baseball, and e-sports.
Before Keiser, she spent three years at Warner University. She started as a Graduate Assistant at Warner and later was promoted to Director of Athletic Communications. Responsible for publicizing the Royals 20 intercollegiate programs, Silvestre oversaw the school's athletic communication department and game day operations, supervising WU's student employees.
She began her career in collegiate athletics at Barry University in 2016 as an Athletic Communications Student Assistant. While at Barry, she also worked with St. Thomas University, Johnson & Wales University, and Florida International University as a statistician.
In 2019, she started working with the Miami HEAT and the Miami Marlins. With the HEAT, she helps execute game day tasks of the Sports Media Relations team, including but not limited to stat distribution to teams and media during stoppages of play, recording player and coach interviews, handling requests from the senior members of the Sports Media Relations staff; and dealing with the needs of reporters on deadline. In addition to working with the media, she is a statistician. For the Miami Marlins, she has different roles that vary from operating the scoreboard, using Xpression, operating show control, inputting stats, and using StatVision.
Silvestre a graduate of Barry University, received her bachelor's degrees in Applied Sports and Exercise Science and Sport Psychology in 2019. She graduated from Warner University in April 2022 with a Master of Science in Management.
