At Rice

Joined as a graduate assistant in 2018 before being promoted to analyst in 2019 and 2020
Was then promoted to safeties coach in 2021 and 2022
Coached in the 2022 Lending Tree Bowl, Rice’s first bowl game since 2013
Worked with a group that held a No. 38 national ranking in pass defense and No. 37 in forced fumbles
Saw both George Nykwol, an East-West Shrine game preseason list member, and Gabe Taylor, who was a PFF C-USA Defensive Rookie of the Year honoree as well as a CUSA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance versus UAB, post standout seasons in 2021 and 2022
Rice ranked No. 21 nationally in interceptions with 1.2 per game and ranked No. 26 in total takeaways with 1.6 per game

At Redlands

Served two seasons as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of the Redlands in Redlands, California
Primary focus was the Redlands cornerbacks
In 2016 Redlands won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title
In 2017, he coached senior Daniel Gonzalez to first team AFCA All-American honors.

Playing Career

Lettered for two seasons at Redlands and was an All-SCIAC performer as both a defensive back and punt returner as a senior in 2015
Began his playing career at Bakersfield College as a wide receiver in 2013

Personal
Education: received his undergraduate degree in history from Redlands in 2016 and joined four of his teammates as members of the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society. He received his Master's in Higher Education from Redlands in 2018.
