Chantel McMillan joined the Florida Atlantic beach volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach in July 2026.

McMillan arrives in Boca Raton after serving as an assistant coach at North Florida and as the beach volleyball coach with Sandstorm Beach Volleyball Club.

At North Florida, McMillan served as an assistant coach during the 2026 season. With the Ospreys, McMillan helped lead the team to a 21-14 overall record and a run to the ASUN Championship finals. With Sandstorm Beach Volleyball Club, McMillan has worked to develop student-athletes in practice and competition settings.

Before joining the Ospreys, McMillan served as the head beach volleyball coach at Beachside High School for two seasons from 2024 through 2025. She led the program to its first and second district championships.

She began her professional career as the Beach Volleyball Director of Development at Sports Edge Beach Volleyball. McMillan managed daily operations for the 10-court beach volleyball facility, oversaw youth development programs and directed junior beach volleyball tournaments and other special events. She also founded the St. John’s Middle School Athletic Association Beach Volleyball League.

Before beginning her coaching career, McMillan played beach volleyball for five seasons at North Florida. She recorded 69 career wins as an Osprey and earned numerous accolades, including 2023 ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2023 AVCA Top Flight, ASUN Winner For Life, and 2023 All-ASUN Second Team. She also helped lead North Florida to the 2021 ASUN Championship and was a five-time ASUN Honor Roll selection.

McMillan, a native of Wellington, Florida, graduated twice from North Florida, receiving her bachelor’s degree in health science with a concentration in public health and a minor in health education and nutrition in 2022, before earning her master’s degree in educational leadership with a concentration in sports administration in 2023.
