Assisted an offense that led the Big 12 in scoring offense and ranked No. 8 nationally. The Red Raider offense averaged 161.8 rushing yards per game and 298.1 passing yards per game, which ranked No. 9
The 2023 Texas Tech squad averaged 162.4 rushing yards per game, Mason Tharp finished the year with 18 receptions for 178 yards and four touchdowns grading out with a team leading 73.5 run blocking rating by PFF while Baylor Cupp finished the year with a 69.9 run blocking grade by PFF and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. The season ended with Texas Tech capturing the 2023 Independence Bowl over Cal, 34-14
In his first season at Texas Tech, Cupp was part of an offense that was ranked in the top 25 in rushing yards per game at 159.4 and 302 passing yards per game, tallying 12 receptions for 132 yards and two scores and was instrumental in a 42-25 win over Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl
