Alvin Hines II joined Florida Atlantic University’s staff in July 2018 as the assistant athletic director of development and was elevated to Associate AD for development in the spring of 2020 and to Senior Associate AD - Revenue Generation in the spring of 2023..
Prior to FAU, Hines served in a similar role at the University of Missouri. As the director of development for major funds, he increased Missouri's annual giving portfolio by 48% while securing major gifts totaling over $2.5 million.
Hines also previously served as the assistant director of development for the annual fund at Missouri. His responsibilities included managing a portfolio of 250 annual fund and major gift donors. While serving in this position, he secured major gifts totaling over $1.7 million, increasing the annual giving portfolio by 29%.
Prior to his appointment at Missouri, Hines served as a team operations intern with the College Football Playoff. He assisted with the planning and execution of all events and operations associated with the teams participating in the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Hines first got his start in collegiate athletics in 2014, when he served as an administrative fellow with the American Athletic Conference, a role in which he coordinated all facets of operations for eight spring championships and three fall championships.
Hines obtained a B.S. in sports administration with a minor in business administration from Samford University, where he played baseball and football. He is currently pursuing an M.S in Education, Counseling, Leadership & Sport Psychology from the University of Missouri.
