Lisa Phillips joined the FAU women’s basketball staff as the director of basketball operations in September 2020. Phillips is responsible for coordinating the team’s travel and practices, as well as serving as a liaison between the basketball office and all other departments within athletics.
Prior to FAU, Phillips started the women’s basketball program at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She served as the head women’s basketball coach during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Before her time at Regent, Phillips was at the helm of the varsity girls basketball program at the Atlantic Shores Christian High School, also in Virginia Beach. The team finished with a 23-4 record to secure the conference and regional championship titles. Her team was ranked No. 1 in the VA Division VISAA 2 basketball standings and advanced to the state semifinals. In 2016, Phillips served at the helm of the Old Dominion University Club women’s basketball team.
Phillips brings with her over 18 years of coaching experience. She started her coaching career at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she served as the head coach, and coached at the varsity level in the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Public School systems for numerous years. Phillips also has experience coaching AAU Basketball and Paul Webb Basketball camps.
A graduate of Greenbrier Christian Academy, Phillips was a four-year letterman on the varsity basketball team and completed her undergraduate studies at Tidewater Community College. Phillips and her husband, Travis Phillips, have four children and three grandchildren.
