In her second season as an assistant coach at FAU, Alexander helped coach the Owls to a seventh place finish in Conference USA, the program's highest finish since joining the league in 2013. Working primarily with the guards, Alexander helped the Owls improve three-point shooting by three percent and overall scoring by more than seven points per game.
Alexander also played a large part in bringing in FAU's eight-member 2018 signing class.
Prior to joining the FAU women's basketball staff, Alexander spent two seasons as an assistant coach under Head Coach Maren Walseth at North Dakota State where she primarily worked with the guards and was the program's defensive coordinator. Alexander helped guide two Bison athletes to Summit League All-Conference honors and one athlete to an Academic All-Conference honor in the 2015-16 season.
In 2013, Alexander began her coaching career at Division II Concordia-St. Paul. She helped guide the Golden Bears to a record-breaking 28-9 season in 2013-14, along with their first appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. The 28 wins matched a program best.Â
A standout player at the University of Iowa, Alexander was a two-time WBCA and Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honoree and a two-time WBCA All-Region 6 selection. She was a three-time All-Big Ten star and a two-time Big Ten All-Defensive Team honoree.
Following her impressive collegiate career, the Minnesota Lynx selected Alexander in the third round of the 2011 WNBA Draft. After one season, she then went to Vienna, Austria where she played for the Flying Foxes.
