Michael Graffin is a senior athletics executive with extensive experience in development, revenue generation, ticket sales, corporate partnerships and department-wide operations. Graffin serves on the executive staff and plays a key role in overseeing the athletics department’s 19 sport programs, while also serving as the sport administrator for men’s basketball.
Since joining FAU Athletics in 2018, Graffin has helped lead one of the most successful fundraising periods in the department’s history. Over the last three seasons, his teams have raised more than $8 million in revenue share and NIL support, helping position FAU’s programs to compete at the highest level of the American Conference. In FY25, FAU Athletics generated a record $26.4 million in fundraising, surpassing the previous all-time record of $23.2 million established in FY24.

During FY23, FAU Athletics raised $15.3 million, more than doubling the previous year’s total of nearly $7 million. That year also included the closing of the third- and fourth-largest gifts in FAU Athletics history – a $7.5 million gift to name the basketball arena and a $5 million gift to name the new athletics village, significantly enhancing facilities across the department. As of June 2026, Graffin and his team have closed 52 six- and seven-figure gifts since his arrival at FAU.

Previously serving as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, Graffin led significant fundraising initiatives that resulted in major gifts for athletics facilities, scholarships and student-athlete support. His accomplishments include securing a $2.5 million athletic scholarship endowment, a $750,000 scholarship gift and significant gifts supporting tennis, beach volleyball, baseball, football scholarships and other athletics priorities.

Throughout his career, Graffin has established a track record of building successful fundraising and revenue-generation programs, cultivating major donors and corporate partners, developing innovative revenue opportunities, and aligning athletics resources with the long-term strategic vision of the institution. His leadership has contributed to the continued growth and national profile of FAU Athletics while helping provide student-athletes with the resources, facilities and competitive opportunities necessary to succeed at the highest level.

Graffin came to FAU after six years with the Army West Point Athletics Department, where he served the last four as part of the Army A Club. He was been an integral part of the A Club team that saw over 25 percent growth the last two seasons.

In his first two seasons, Graffin served as a sales consultant for the Aspire Group at West Point, coordinating and selling group experiences, season- and single-game tickets for Army.

Graffin was a key component in launching Army gameday experiences for youth football and lacrosse programs, which brought in over $100,000 in new revenue.

Before joining the Army staff in 2012, Graffin spent a year as the assistant director of athletic operations at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, overseeing the day-to-day operations for 15 athletic teams.

Graffin earned a master's degree in sport administration from Belmont University in 2011. The Bowling Green, Ohio native received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008 from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

Graffin lives in Boca Raton by his wife, Alisha and daughter Eliza.
