EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In case of an emergency, the PA Announcer will notify fans of developing situations including inclement weather, fire, power failure and game delays. These announcements are made to let fans make informed decisions concerning their well-being and provide specific instructions about what to do. If possible, familiarize yourself with the nearest exit points of the stadium. In case of an emergency, please dial 911, and contact the nearest event staff member.
GATES
The FAU Beach Volleyball Complex will open one (1) hour prior to the start of the match, unless otherwise stated on FAUSports.com.
HEAT RELATED ILLNESS GUIDE
In Florida, the development of heat related problems is a common occurrence during tennis matches at Kimberly V. Strauss. A high heat index increases the body temperature leading to significant sweating and fluid loss. Unless fluids are appropriately replaced, heat-related illness may occur. Fans with cardiac, respiratory, or gastrointestinal problems are at higher risk for heat illness. Heat problems can usually be prevented by:
Applying sunscreen that has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher
Wearing a wide brimmed hat
Wearing sunglasses that block at least 99 percent of UV light
Wearing light, loose-fitting clothes
Drinking plenty of water or sports drinks such as Powerade
Limiting alcohol intake
If you become hot, sweaty, fatigued, and thirsty, you should get out of the sun immediately and begin to replenish your fluids. If these symptoms continue or you develop dizziness or muscle cramps, you should notify the nearest Event Staff or Security Personnel.
LOST AND FOUND
If any article is lost or found at the FAU Beach Volleyball Complex, please inquire about, or report the item to the nearest Event Staff. Items turned in during the tennis match will be delivered to the game manager. All lost and found items not picked up prior to the end of the match will be turned in to FAU PD and are available for pick-up the following business day. All unclaimed items will be disposed of after 30 days. Please call 561-297-3500 to inquire about lost items.
PARKING
Free parking will be available for all home beach volleyball matches. Parking will be located in Lot 10 in front of the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena and Lot 12 which is directly across from Joan Joyce Field.
PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR
Threatening or inconsiderate behavior such as profane and abusive language, use of tobacco, fighting, and drunkenness will not be tolerated and can result in ejection, and / or arrest.
Standing on seats and throwing any objects in the stands or onto the playing surface is also prohibited. Should you observe any of this disruptive behavior, please notify your nearest law enforcement officer or event staff member.
NCAA policy prevents fans from entering the courts/sand area while play is in progress unless they are properly credentialed or accompanied by an authorized staff member. Violators are subject to arrest.
