NCAA rules and regulations place limits on when and how coaches and administrative personnel can communicate with prospective student-athletes.
Correspondence- Coaches and administrative personnel are not allowed to send letters or emails to high school students, parents or legal guardians until after June 15 of their sophomore year in high school.Â
- Telephone calls, both outgoing and incoming, may not be made or accepted until June 15 following the conclusion of a student's sophomore year in high school.
- Unofficial (Unlimited)
- Beginning August 1 of their junior year, students are permitted to visit FAU, at their own expense, and can meet with the coaching staff, tour campus and athletic facilities. Freshman and sophomores are not permitted to make unofficial visits. Coaches are not permitted to speak with any visiting students during the recruiting dead periods (currently one week in November and one week in April, see NCAA.org).Â
- Official (One visit per institution, 5 total)
- Beginning August 1st of the high school student's junior year, expense paid visits may be made to institutions. These visits are arranged in advance through our coaching staff. Â
- If you are a student-athlete that is or has been enrolled at another four-year institution in the last year (Division I, II, III or NAIA), we are prohibited from having any communication with you, directly or indirectly, until that institution grants Florida Atlantic University permission to contact you. You may obtain this permission from the compliance office of your current or previous institution.
- High school students are permitted to contact the FAU Admissions Office for information regarding Florida Atlantic University and its academic programs.
