Andrea Sweet joined the Florida Atlantic University strength and conditioning staff in February of 2007. Prior to joining FAU, Sweet was one of two head strength coaches at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Boston, MA., a premier training facility for hockey, basketball and tennis athletes.
While at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, Sweet was in charge of the development program for professional, collegiate and high school level athletes.
In 2004-2005 Andrea worked at Velocity Sports Performance where she was the Assistant Sports Performance Director in which she designed and implemented programs for elite athletes from the NBA, NFL, and college levels. Sweet also served a stint as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA in 2004.
Sweet earned her master's degree in Exercise Physiology. She is credited for creating strength programs for women's golf and men's and women's tennis earning her upper post-graduate degree. She also worked with 12 other teams including the football team, who were the 2003 Big Sky Conference Co-Champions.
Sweet holds a Bachelors of Science in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College. During her time at Springfield, Andrea played for the women's basketball team, who advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2000-2001.
Sweet is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is certified by the American Red Cross in CPR, First Aid and AED.
