John Burnside

John Burnside joined Florida Atlantic University's athletic training staff in March 2006 as a head athletic trainer in charge of football. He was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in May 2007.
Burnside came to Florida Atlantic from McNeese State University where he was an assistant athletic trainer.
Prior to his time there, he spent a season with NFL Europe. Burnside worked for the Cologne Centurions where he was an assistant athletic trainer.
Burnside also served as a seasonal intern for the Carolina Panthers from July 2004 through January 2005.
Coming to FAU marks the return to the college ranks for Burnside, who served as a graduate assistant at LSU from June 2002 through June 2004, including the Tigers' 2003 National Championship football season. He also was responsible for both men's and women's track and field at LSU, which also captured a national title.
Prior to LSU, Burnside served as a student-athletic trainer at UCF and was involved with the 2002 Gridiron Classic.
Burnside obtained his master's degree from LSU in Spring 2004 with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. He earned an undergraduate degree in athletic training from UCF in 2002. The South Florida native holds certification with the NATA, and the America Heart Association.
