FAU Student-Athletes work to make Holiday Season better for Needy Girls and Boys

Florida Atlantic University's Athletics Department will accept an unwrapped toy at two selected basketball games and has joined in partnership with Double Eagle Distributing and Anheuser-Busch to reward those baring gifts with a free t-shirt.

"FAU's student athletes are awarded a tremendous opportunity with a scholarship due to their athletic ability," said Dickie Hart, FAU Assistant Marketing Director. "This toy drive is just one of the many ways the student athletes can give back to the community. The Thanksgiving food drive was a tremendous success and with the help of Budweiser and 620 Subs we hope the toy drive will achieve the same success."

The first 100 people to bring an unwrapped toy to the December 9th women's basketball game, which will feature the Lady Owls and Georgia Southern, 3 pm, Saturday, will receive a t- shirt. The drive will again be held for the December 18th men's basketball game featuring the Owls and Birmingham Southern.
