Oct. 24, 2000
BOCA RATON, FL -
Jacqueline Egger has been named Florida Atlantic University's Assistant Volleyball Coach, announced Tom Cargill FAU's Athletics Director.
Volleyball is the two-time defending Trans America Athletic Conference champion and was the first FAU women's sport to earn a NCAA post-season berth. FAU will work to become a perennial NCAA post-season participant, which is becoming more difficult as the TAAC becomes more and more competitive. With this in mind, Jackie has been added to the volleyball staff to assist with virtually all facets of the program.
Egger graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, IA, also the alma mater of head coach Jody Brown. She received her degree in Physical Education, where she has coached, as an assistant, in both 1997 and 1998. She was also a JV coach at Graceland from 1994-95. Prior to a full-time position at Graceland, she worked with Hoescht Marion Rousell Fitness and with the National Volleyball Association in Huntington Beach, CA.
She has coached summer camps with United States Volleyball, in the Mid-America Regions, the last six summers that is also where she met Coach Brown.
Egger will assume her duties immediately, with the TAAC Volleyball Championships, hosted by FAU, scheduled for November 16-18.
