"The Big Brother/Big Sister program, called "First Mentors" is a national program, geared towards college mentoring," said Wayne Monroe, the Program Director for Big Brothers and Sisters. "We have a combined partnership with First USA Bank, which is a corporate sponsor. Currently, we are working with the community, Boca Raton Middle School, FAU and Junior Achievement to enhance reading and social skills while exposing the middle school students to the college experience."
The Lady Owl have posted an 8-4 overall record and a 3-2 TAAC record, the best in the program's Division I history. The season will be capped off by hosting the Trans America Athletic Conference Championships, where they will vie for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
