FAU Athletic Competition Postponed

,Florida Atlantic University's Athletic Department announced, Wednesday afternoon, that all intercollegiate athletic competition will be postponed. A decision has yet to be made about re-scheduling.

The following events have been postponed:
9-13 Thu Volleyball vs. IUPUI
9-14-15 Fri/Sat Volleyball Tournament featuring: (Youngstown, Memphis, and North Carolina State)
9-14 Fri Women's Soccer at Central Florida
9-14 Fri Cross Country at the University of Miami
9-15 Sat Football at James Madison
9-16 Sun Women's Soccer vs. the University of South Florida

The volleyball team will be the first FAU team scheduled to return to action. The Lady Owls will play host to the University of Miami, 7 pm, Tuesday.

Each team will continue to practice. However, under the circumstances, they wish to hold all comments to statements issued in this release.

"The game between James Madison and Florida Atlantic has been postponed in light of the events over the last few days and for the well being of the athletes," said Howard Schnellenberger. "We will continue to practice and start our normal preparation for the Marist game scheduled for September 22. We join all Americans in the continued prayer for those whose lives have been so closely touched by this."
