The 2003-04 Florida Atlantic University athletic season gets underway this week. Six teams will begin action with the football team beginning its third season Thursday night at Middle Tennessee State University. The game can be heard live on 1040-AM WLVJ and www.fausports.com.
Three more teams begin action on Friday with the men's and women's soccer teams each playing their season openers. The women host Loyola (MD) Friday at 7:30pm and Indiana Sunday at noon as part of the FAU Marriott Kick-Off Classic. The men's soccer team takes on South Florida Friday night in Tampa in its season opener.
The volleyball teams also gets underway Friday with two matches at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee. The Lady Owls take on Florida State and Kansas State on Friday before concluding tourney play Saturday against Michigan.
On Saturday, the women's and men's cross country teams begin action with a meet at the Palm Beach Atlantic Invitational in West Palm Beach.
