2002-2003 Dance Team Tryout Information

Tryouts for the 2002-2003 dance team will be held in April 2002.

The minimum requirements for the team are as follows:

Double pirouette
Axle
Fuette or A la seconde
Toe touch
Style of dance: Funk, Jazz, Pom
Each dancer will be asked to have a turn sequence (style is optional)
Tryouts are held as follows:
Day 1
-All dancers will learn 2-3 dances with all three styles of dance
-Each dancer will learn a leap and turn series to be shown at tryouts.
-Initial cuts will be made at the end of the day.
Day 2
-Each dancer will be evaluated by the coaches on their ability to perform, how quickly the dancer can pick up the routines, and their technique.
-Members of the team will be posted after the tryouts.
Tryouts will be held in the upstairs balcony of the main gymnasium at the Boca Raton campus of FAU.
Practices are mandatory and will include, learning dances, leaps, turns, running, and performing. Working out, weight training as well as cardiovascular activity, is required by each member on a weekly basis.
