Question from Ched Chase: You have a lot of experience so it seems in many aspects of college athletics, but what is the main focus, if there is one, you'll have here at FAU?
A:Thanks for your interest in FAU Athletics. It's an exciting time for the department and I'm thrilled to be a part of the FAU family. My main focus will be Title IX/Gender Equity and sport oversight. I will work closely with the university's Gender Equity committee to insure compliance with our federal laws. In addition, I will be working with our coaches and other personnel to help better serve the student-athlete. Our main goal will be to maximize the experience of the athlete while creating an entertaining environment for our fans. Paramount to this goal is the involvement of our students, alumni, fans, and community. That being said, I hope to meet you at one of our events this year. Go Owls!
Question from Stuart Pearce:What would be your advice for keeping ground balls from going side to side in the outfield grass?
A:You'll find outfield grass can be quite tricky! The answer to your question lies in the length of the cut and the direction and the direction in which the grass is mowed. Your expert grounds crew at FSU can take care of that with hands on tournament directing.
Just kidding man! Thanks for staying in touch!!! I'll talk to you soon.
