Florida Atlantic University President Anthony James Catanese has been named president of the newly named Atlantic Sun Conference.
"I am proud to lead the Atlantic Sun Conference into this exciting new period of growth and development," Catanese said after members of the Atlantic Sun Presidents Council unanimously elected him to the post. "The conference's new name and logo stand as symbols of a very bright future."
The NCAA Division I conference was formerly known as the Trans America Athletic Conference. The name change was announced today from conference headquarters in Macon, Georgia.
