BOCA RATON, FL - Randy Langegans has been named Florida Atlantic University Associate athletic Director for Business Operations, announced FAU s Athletics Director Craig Angelos, Tuesday afternoon.
Langejans will come to Florida Atlantic from Northern Arizona University where he has served for more than two decades.
The last two years he has served as the associate athletic director for operations, which included the managerial aspects of a 5.5 million dollar 15-team budget, following a 12-year stint as an assistant athletics director for business. In that capacity, the Northern Arizona graduate, oversaw the day-to-day operations of the football, men s basketball and the cross country and track and field programs. And, he currently serves as a member of the NCAA Division I men s tennis national committee.
His position at NAU also provided opportunities to serve as tournament manager for several Big Sky indoor and outdoor track and field championship meets, two league men's basketball tournaments, two of the last three Big Sky men's and women's tennis tournaments in the Valley and two NCAA I-AA football playoff game. He also coordinates financial matters for the various sports camps on campus.
Langejans first joined the Northern Arizona staff as a graduate assistant and volunteer football coach, a position he held for three years. He also served as an athletics ticket coordinator for two years before assuming the assistant athletics director post in 1990.
A former 20-year high school official, he earned his degree in recreation leadership with emphasis in business administration in 1984.
He is expected to join FAU s staff June 6.
