FAU Arena, a.k.a. "The Burrow", opened its doors to women's basketball in 1984, and men's basketball and volleyball became FAU Arena tenants in 1988. Since then, "The Burrow" has provided fans an opportunity to watch exciting Division I action while serving as a home for those three teams.
The facility seats 2,900 and was modernized in 2007 with a $10 million renovation which included a new roof, renovated locker rooms, an upgraded exterior and renovated lobby as well as chair back seating and the installation of a video scoreboard. In the summer of 2008, further renovations were put in place, including club suites to give "The Burrow" an exciting new feel as the programs continue to grow.
In June of 2019, the court was named "Abessinio Court" after a $3 million dollar gift from the Rocco and Mary Abessino Foundation. Full details for the Abessinos' donation can be found here.Â
In November of 2022,  Eleanor R. Baldwin made a $7.5 million gift commitment to Florida Atlantic University Athletics. In recognition of the gift, FAU Arena became known as the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. More information on the renaming can be found here.Â
