Toya Ballard Promoted to Senior Woman Administrator

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic Athletics announced Tuesday the promotion of Toya Ballard to senior woman administrator. Ballard, who has served the Owls since 2022, adds the "SWA" position to her title of senior associate athletics director and director of the Student-Athlete Success Center.
Ballard leads the Owls academics department as the director of the Student-Athlete Success Center (SASC). She and her staff successfully mentor and guide the academic pursuits of the department's nearly 450 student-athletes. Under her direction, the Owls continue to post record numbers in the classroom, including the department's streak of 21 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
"I am thrilled to promote Toya as senior woman administrator," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White. "Toya is a trusted member of our Athletics Executive Staff and has directed unprecedented academic success for our student-athletes. She has earned the respect of our staff, coaches, student-athletes and campus counterparts for her leadership, passion and professionalism. We are lucky to have Toya, and she will flourish in this expanded role."
In addition to her work as director of SASC, Ballard serves as the sports supervisor for beach volleyball, which won the CUSA Tournament in 2025 and participated in the NCAA Tournament.
Ballard possesses nearly 20 years of collegiate athletics administration experience, with previous stints at Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Florida State and UCF. She earned her bachelor's degree in health & physical education from UCF in 2007 while representing the Knights in track and field. Ballard obtained a master's degree in sport and fitness – sport leadership from UCF in 2010.
The senior woman administrator is an NCAA-mandated designation for the highest-ranking female in the athletics department.
Ballard and her husband Travis are the parents of twins, Jordan and Josiah, born in December of 2022.
