BOCA RATON, Fla. – Helping lead the Owls against Wichita State and UTSA behind a pair of double-double performances, Florida Atlantic women's basketball forward
Vivian Onugha was named an American Conference Honorable Mention selection, as announced by the league office on Monday.
The honor marks the third American weekly award for the Owls this season and Vivian's second career weekly American honorable mention selection.
Onugha led the Owls this week against Wichita State and UTSA. Onugha scored 30 points, averaging 15 points per game, and added 22 rebounds, averaging 11 boards per game, marking her second and third career NCAA double-doubles across the Owls' two contests. She opened the week with 16 points, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and 4-of-8 at the line, to go along with 10 boards, an assist, a steal, and a block in the win over Wichita State. Onugha then finished the week with a team-best 14 points, shooting 4-of-14 from the field and 6-of-8 at the line, adding a career-best 12 rebounds, a steal, and a block against UTSA.
