BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lucia Cassidy will join the Florida Atlantic women's tennis team this fall as the Owls begin preparation to surpass their historic season of 2024-25 with a No. 27 ranking, a 15-0 regular-season finish, and a first round win in the NCAA Tournament.

Cassidy will come to the Owls after building an impressive resume in junior tennis. The Warwick, England native has built a 792 ITF junior ranking and has captured 27 matches since 2023, primarily on a hard court. and had a similar fate with 10 doubles wins. She recorded a straight set win over WTA 850 this summer and was a Grade 1 British Tournament finalist in December of 2024. She has played in six ITF junior doubles finals and won a WTA 1087 championship in doubles.
The Owls are set to return four of their six singles courts as well as the double duo of
Lara Smejkal and
Malwina Rowinska, who finished the 2025 campaign ranked No. 55.
