BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team will continue their quest to build upon last season's historic season with the addition of Malika Amirgaliyeva.
Amirgaliyeva, from Ust-Kamenogorsik, Kazakhstan, will join the Owls this fall after building a No. 208 ITF ranking, after climbing as high as 203. The Owls are set to return four of their six singles courts as well as the double duo of Lara Smejkal and Malwina Rowinska, who finished the 2025 campaign ranked No. 55.
QUOTABLE
Ricardo Gonazlez, FAU's Director of Tennis
"I am so pleased to welcome Malika to our tennis family at FAU. We have a young group of incoming freshmen, who will all feed from each other. Malika is a top ranked player that will immediately make an impact on our team. Malika always showed respect and maturity throughout the recruiting process, which are all values we look for in all our recruits. I can't wait to get to work with her."
