Sandy Owls Remain at No. 12 in AVCA Week 2 Rankings

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Sandy Owls hold steady at No. 12 in the week two AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll rankings.
The Sandy Owls are off to an impressive start, going 7-1 over their first two weekends and earning three top-20 wins against No. 14 Washington, No. 17 FIU, and No. 13 Georgia State so far this season.
Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova led the way for the Owls, finishing the weekend 4-0 and improving their perfect season to 8-0 with eight straight-set wins this season. Julie Honzovicova and Klaire Van Deusen finished with a team second-best 3-1 on the weekend. Kate McLaughlin and Kendall Mignerey, Sydney Schroder and Shantel Starling, and Olivia Strandberg and Shayna Wolf all went 2-2 on the weekend, while Maddie Sides and Strandberg finished 1-0, and Kate Stoughton and Starling went 1-1.
