CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The
Florida Atlantic women's track & field sprinters completed a successful day at the University of Miami for the second consecutive weekend.
FAU started the afternoon with the high jump, followed by the 1500-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, and 400-meter hurdles. The Owls completed the day with three runners in the 200-meter dash.
- To kick off the meet, junior Promise Cross competed in the high jump, registering a 1.65m.
- Florida Atlantic had two representatives in the 1500-meter (Grace Mueller and Holly Arrison), where Mueller recorded a personal best with a time of 5:06.26.
- Junior Jada Bolhuis competed in the 400-meter for the second time this season. Her time of 56.41 sets a personal best since joining the Owls.
- Sofia Molina set a season-best in the 400-meter (57.50).
- Freshman Kayla Hopkins and junior Camilla Nicholas finished within the top five in the 100-meter dash. Hopkins finished second (11.92) on the day, while Nicholas placed fifth with a 12.03.
- Kayla Groppe turned in a 2:23.64 time to record a new personal best in the 800-meter.
- In the 400-meter hurdles, Florida Atlantic was represented by freshman Laura Kuhn and senior Jordan O'Brien (1:06.94). Kuhn set a career-best on the day with a 1:03.86 in the second outdoor meet of her collegiate career.
- To complete the day, Hopkins and Richelle Williams finished in the top ten of the 200-meter dash. Hopkins placed fourth overall (24.25), while Williams finished ninth (25.15).
The entire Owls' squad will travel north to Gainesville to compete in the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida on Friday, April 4, through Saturday, April 5.
