WILMINGTON, N.C. – NaShawn Tyson posted rounds of 64 and 65 on Monday to lead Florida Atlantic men's golf at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate. Tyson is -13 and leads the individual competition by six shots with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday at Cape Fear Country Club. Â

- Tyson's 64 (-7) in the opening round tied for the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history.
- The sophomore bogeyed his first hole of the day and then proceeded to birdie eight of the next 17 to take a four-shot lead.
- Tyson continued to roll in the second round, adding another seven birdies en route to a 65 (-6), stretching his lead to six over James Madison's Vaclav Tichy.
- Tyson's 36-hole total of 129 shattered the previous program record of 134 set by Steve LeBrun in 1999 and tied by Max Sturdza in 2024.
- As a team, the Owls are in fifth place at +3, nine shots behind leaders UNCW.

- The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
- The Owls will once again be paired with Toledo and Stetson.
