KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming & diving Head Diving Coach Alik Sarkisian and Owls men's diver
Isac Faxius have earned ASUN awards for the performances from the conference championships this past weekend.
Sarkisian was announced by the conference as ASUN Men's Diving Coach of the Year after the Owls swept the podium in both the 1m and 3m diving competitions. Coming into the championships, the Owls had earned ASUN Diver of the Week weekly honors five different times under Sarkisian's coaching. Overall, the Owls left the meet with six medals won across the diving events.
After coming out victorious in both of the 1m and 3m diving events, freshman
Isac Faxius was named ASUN Most Outstanding Diver. His freshman season started after being named ASUN Diver of the Week twice during the regular season. He carried this momentum into the championship meet, leaving with two gold medals and the ASUN yearly honor.
The 2024-25 season will continue with postseason competitions in the coming weeks. Owl divers who qualify are set for the Diving B Zone Championships taking place from Mar. 9 to Mar. 12. Select Owls will then compete in their third National Invitational Championships, held in Ocala, Florida from Thursday, Mar. 13 – Saturday, Mar. 15. inside the FAST facility. The 2025 NCAA Championships are scheduled from Mar. 19 - 22 for the women and Mar. 26 – 29 for the men.
